In 1983, my parents bought their first Mary Fedden, Irises, from Fosse Gallery in Stow on the Wold. Having lived in Henley in the 1970s, they became familiar with Mary Fedden’s vibrant paintings when visiting the Bohun Gallery. They still love their little painting and Irises has always been my favourite painting in their wide-ranging collection. As a result I have spent the last 20 years collecting works by Mary Fedden and her artist husband, Julian Trevelyan. Today my collection covers all aspects of Mary’s work from small watercolours, gouaches and collages to larger oil paintings. Very importantly and crucially, all my paintings have immaculate provenance. Full details are available for each artwork and I have kept all relevant paperwork as proof.

SO WHY AM I NOW SELLING SOME OF MY PAINTINGS?

Having built my collection since the late 1990s, I feel that it is now time for a slight change of direction. I will always keep my favourite works by Mary Fedden, but I now want to build a more wide-ranging Modern British collection. What’s more, I have also run out of wall space! It seems a shame to keep paintings that are full of life and colour shut away in dark cupboards. As a result, I have come to the conclusion that the time has come to sell a selection of my Mary Fedden works. Hopefully others will want to liven up their homes with Mary Fedden’s work in the same way that I have loved doingfor many years.
